Pear Acrylic Paintings - Kids Art Class

I am so proud of the great job my students did today with their pear paintings.  We started with a red background to give the finished paintings some extra depth and interest.  I love how the red peeks through here and there.   Here are the photos of their wonderful paintings.  I did a tutorial video of this lesson too!

  4. i found your video on pinterest and watched it.. love it! i'd like to try this with my students but can't really afford acrylics for my students (i have over 500!). i think this would be an amazing art club project though!

  5. Thanks for the kind comments!

Wow 500 students! I can imagine that would get really pricey! I do private lessons with small classes (no more than 12 students). We did this at my son's elementary school for two years though and used a dry brush technique for the shading. It used less paint. I would love to see any projects you do!

  6. I am so inspired by the student work and your tutorial that I painted myself a series of 4 today to put on the fireplace mantle. I had great fun. I will post mine on my blog in the next couple of days. Thank you for the time and trouble you put in to provide the video. (I had the hardest time with those white spotlights! Yours looked SO good, mine...not so!)
