Watercolor Technique Landscapes - Kids Art Class

This was another idea I found on Pinterest.  We did a different watercolor technique on each section of landscape (cut from watercolor paper).  The sky was done with margarita salt sprinkled over a wash (I tried several different salts and the margarita salt had the most interesting results).  Some other techniques we used were sponging wet on wet, alcohol drops, splattering and stamping wet on dry.  I love how the projects turned out.  The kids had a lot of fun with the salt and alcohol techniques.

Button Trees - Kids Art Class

I have been wanting to try these adorable button trees, that I found on Pinterest, for months.  We finally did them this week in my kid's art class.  It was a great craft.  I think the kids really had fun with them.  Here is my video lesson from YouTube:

Mixed Media Keepsake Boxes - Kids Art Class

We made mixed media keepsake boxes in my art class recently.  The kids covered their boxes with scrapbook paper and then used stamps and paint to make textures and patterns.  They used ribbon and other embellishments to add dimension.  I love how they turned out so personalized.
